Today on Fun Food Adventures, we're at the
Inn At Essex in Burlington, Vermont, home of the New England Culinary
Institute (NECI). With all these great instructors around, I'm going to
learn about gaining wisdom and understanding.
There is so much you can learn here at NECI. Students learn to make
breads, soups, sauces, desserts, and so many other amazing foods. I was
so excited when the students in charge of lunch asked me if I would like
to help them. I learned a lot from the instructors, but I also learned
from the students. T hey
were in the middle of breaking the school record for the most sauces
produced in one day, and I was glad that I could help.
Another way to learn here is the Dacor Kitchen Theatre, where the guests
at the inn can get the same instruction as the students. Chef Joshua
Gibbs showed me how to make a lot of tatsy treats, including a creme
brulee. It was amazing. I had a lot of fun learning from this
amazing teacher.
To take a break from all my classes, I went on a hot-air balloon ride.
It was unbelievable. I could see for miles. Vermont is
beautiful in the winter, and seeing it from up here was great.
All this learning has been awesome. It was a lot of fun helping
out in the kitchen. I really learned that gaining wisdom and
understanding is something that we should all try our best to do.
I hope that you learned as much as I did. |
