Press Release:
2006-10-24 -- WDC Media News—Los Angeles, CA – Whether it’s rolling sushi, making a healthy snack, or an irresistible dessert, Nathan Godsey is simply amazing! 9-year-old Nathan is the hottest new cooking sensation with his sizzling new television show, ‘Fun Food Adventures’.
‘Fun Food Adventures’ might find Nathan snowboarding, rock climbing, or even hot air ballooning in the most unusual places. He can be seen working with world-renowned gourmet chefs creating exquisite culinary art. “Then I get to eat it, which is the best part!” exudes America’s advancing first-class cooking sensation And of course, Nathan will whip up his own special kid-friendly recipes.
When asked what his favorite dish to fix is, he replied, “I like making
my own Maki Roll sushi at home. It’s also fun to host sushi rolling parties
where we teach friends how to do it, too.”
Nathan Godsey, inspired by watching Food Network, has
always wanted to be a TV chef. His opportunity came when Food Network
offered a national cooking competition for kids 18 and under where the prize
was a new car and private cooking lessons from Emeril Lagasse. Nathan won
at age 7. While at the Food Network studios in New York, the idea was
sealed in his mind that he really could reach for the stars, “Being on TV
was exciting. I wanted to do it more. I wanted my own show, too.”
Nathan says, “I always loved to watch the cooking shows. My little brother
and I pretended to host our own show in our kitchen.”
His dream has now become a reality.
‘Fun Food Adventures’ films at ski resorts, professional cooking schools and
restaurants that rank in America’s Top 25. The show also films on location
at ethnic events like Japan Fest in Stone Mountain, GA and The Annual
Grandfather Mountain (Scottish) Highland Games in North Carolina.
”The show’s producers imagined telecast venues they knew would be fun to
shoot, while at the same time entertaining for the whole family,” reports
Susan Zahn of WDC Media.
The producers of the show commented, “Nathan’s such a
natural in front of the camera—he makes our job very easy. He’s a lot of
fun to work with because he’s such a spunky kid, yet very mature for his
age.”
Nathan already has fan mail and hits on his website coming in from around the world. Some of his fans wrote in with comments like Susan mother of 6, “I can’t begin to tell you how excited my family and I are about your show... Nathan is great! Even my teenagers enjoy watching him. When the show ended today, my 10 year old asked, ‘What time does it come on tomorrow?’ I especially appreciate your emphasis on family values. I know your show is safe for my children to watch, although I have to tell you that I enjoy watching it just as much as them, if not more.” Another adult wrote in, “I have been home due to illness & was flipping through channels when I stumbled upon Nathan on the screen! What a delightful show... I knew that this project was underway, but I did not have any idea of the quality & creativity! This is great!” Other fan mail is coming in from young kids who have their parents type for them.
“His inviting personality, maturity, and stage presence on camera are very rare for someone his age,” Zahn observed. “Not only is he comfortable in front of the camera, he genuinely connects with people.
When asked what’s next, Nathan replied, “We are working on an episode about ‘healthy choices’ to help in the fight against childhood obesity. It’s important. We want kids to be healthy and smart about the food they eat and things they do.”
“Finding a show of this depth and variety is like
coming upon golden treasure. What a thrill! Learning of other cultures and
their foods with a carefree, light approach is what kids delight in. Then
that added plus — parents seeing their own kids enveloped in learning all
about that,” Zahn assures.
‘Fun Food Adventures’ is now airing both in the US and internationally on
Saturday mornings (9 PST/12 noon EST) on TBN and six days a week on Smile of
a Child.
