I Love New York!
One of my favorite places to go is New York City. I don’t think I would like to live there (no trees for tree forts) but, it is a fun place to visit. Last time we went it was right before Thanksgiving and everything was decorated for Christmas. This time we went in January. A staff member from The Mike and Juliet Show on Fox, saw the clip of me on Ellen and called us to see if I would come and be on their show. This was right around my Mom’s birthday, and I told her that if it worked out it would be my birthday present to her. Well, it did work out. We hopped on a plane and, 1 1/2 hours later we were in NYC.
(Dad got to fly with us on the same plane this time — here we are playing Sudoku in the airport). We stayed a few days longer than we did in California, because we had lots more to see that we missed the first time we visited. This time our plan was to eat as many different foods as we could. My parents say that the best way to find really good food is to ask the people who live there. We ate at a tiny chinese restaurant, a Thai noodle shop, a Mexican sandwich shop, Italian with homemade pizza and pasta, bagels and cannolies. We took pictures of some of the places.
My favorites were the Thai noodles and the Mexican corn. Both of these foods my Mom and I have made since coming home. The corn was very different. I think we are going to film a clip of me making it and post it on the site. Another thing we did on this trip was visit the 9/11 memorial. It was very sad and quiet. Nobody talked while we stood and looked at the hole in the ground. Then we walked over to Trinity Church and enjoyed the last part of the service there. We spent alot of time that day on the Metro, I really thought it was fun until some guy got on and tried to sell everyone pirated DVDs. He could even say his little speech in French and Spanish as well as English.

(that’s me on the bottom) One of my favorite parts of the trip was going to a Broadway show. Last trip my parents saw Fiddler on the Roof, but we stayed with a friend who lives in the City. This time Dad, Mom and I went to see Phantom of the Opera. Mom and Dad had seen it before so they could help me understand what was going on. I understood most of it. I really liked the music and the effects.
Being on the Mike and Juliet show was lots of fun. Everyone there was really cool and laid back. I made Nathan’s Crazy Mystery Brownies for them. After the show we passed them out to the audience and crew. The food stylist thought they were amazing. When I left they gave me a bunch of kitchen tools and gadgets to use, not to mention all the left over candy from the brownies. I took the candy home and shared with my brother and sister and my friend Wyc.
Before we left for home I wanted to visit the Giant Toys R Us and the M&M store. I found a green girl M&M plate for my sister. We already have the blue and red ones that Mom and Dad brought back from one of their trips. Those are our special plates. Now my sister has one of her own. I can’t wait to go back to New York, next time I want to see the Blue Man Group and eat more unique foods!
